Hello my friends! This is my little personal web site where I post stuff for me, you, the afterlife (if still pay for webhosting).

On this post I don’t want to make stupid jokes any more, just let it be and we get to the topic.

The blog

We are in the year 2019 and this blog post is finally online with posts about my role as a dev dad, and some personal information. I write about everything.

On the technical side of this page I want to do some awesome stuff. There is the blogging part, just to get things started. Later I plan to add a bookmark module into my CMF of choice right now: ProcessWire.

Why using a PHP CMF, or why using PHP anyway? Well, this works the best for me now. I wanted to make this blog with some other tools (liked Hexo) but found out I need a backend that supports more than only static actions and didn’t want to get too deep in a new technology yet. I just wanted to start!

Here we are. I have already posted some posts not only for testing, it’s for real use. I must learn more and get better on workflows, Restart my Wacom drivers is coming back. I really love the post, and did not forget this! In future there should be more technical tricks that could be useful to me or somebody else.

One reason to stay and read here: the use of new web technology. Ok, let us limit it a little: Now the blog uses new CSS stuff that should be used today (might break it in IE, still looks readable). many web sites don’t do this because of compatibility reasons. It is like asking: “Hello, how old are you?” Everybody in web development knows this issue. We must cut the bloat and begin a whole new life. I am not a fan of fallbacks either. Maybe some @support for stuff still not ready if it is not needed now.

For SEO comes no big things, rather small parts that I want to test and investigate.

The reader view on Firefox is one of my favourite tools to read stuff the way it should have been.

My hope for this year

This is my year! And of course, there is the big goal in the future for myself: my own bookmark system. This, and a media player with a lot of cool stuff inside. On the way I get some interesting topics on my digital desk, where I get inspiration to write about.

Biggest (work) part for this blog is analytics. Yeah, I hate this stuff too, but I need it and learn from it more. There might be helpful informations for others. Identify and analyse some experiments on social media or other pages. What happens with my blog by that looks very interesting. What exactly it could be I do not know yet. Hope it becomes awesome.
